Biography
Dr. Saiki began his surgical training in Japan and participated in various research and clinical training programs in Canada during the early years of his career. From 1995 to 1997, he served as a research fellow at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and the University of Alberta. Between 1999 and 2002, he received clinical training in congenital heart surgery and cardiopulmonary transplantation at the University of Alberta. In 2002–2003, he worked as a clinical fellow at Boston Children's Hospital. He joined Tohoku University as an Assistant Professor in 2003, became an Associate Professor in 2005, and was promoted to full Professor and Department Chair in 2010.
